Alex Rodriguez Stops Talking About Steroids

Bronx Baseball DailyFeb 19, 2009

Obviously, we all know by now that Alex Rodriguez met with reporters earlier in the week to discuss his use of steroids earlier in his career and that looks like it’ll be it as A-Rod refused to answer follow up questions today.

“I’m not talking about it anymore,” Rodriguez said Thursday. He also wouldn’t speak about MLB wanting to meet with him for discussions about PED’s.

“I’d rather not get into that," he said.

Instead, A-Rod took the field and actually played some baseball. Refreshing for a baseball player.

“The relief was just putting the uniform back on and running out there with my teammates,” Rodriguez said. “No matter what happens and what has occurred in my life, the baseball field is where I feel most comfortable.”

This is great news as far as I’m concerned. If A-Rod doesn’t keep adding fuel to the fire , this entire ordeal will pass that much sooner. I am bored with this kind of talk. To me ,it’s all about baseball. I would rather hear about who’s starting in center field, wouldn’t you?

A-Rod isn’t the only one done talking about steroids. The godfather of Yankee blogs Peter Abraham has gone all natural over at his LoHud blog.

“Starting right now and going until midnight, the LoHud Yankees Blog is a steroid-free zone,” Abraham blogged. “There will be no posts or comments about steroids, the list of 104 names, Gene Orza, Dominican pharmacies, Jose Canseco, Primobolan, mysterious cousins or Selena Roberts.”

I’m going to try to do the same here at BBD. Obviously, if anything big happens I’ll still write about it, but for the most part I’m done with this story. I don’t care about his cousin and I don’t really care what anyone else has to say right now.
