College Basketball Recruiting: Top Landing Spots for 5-Star Harrison Twins

Josh SchochJun 7, 2018

Andrew and Aaron Harrison make up the most important recruiting deal in the Class of 2013, as both are top five players and 5-star recruits.

The package deal of both twins going to the same school makes the twins the most important players in the class, even more important than Jabari Parker.

These two both have great size and skill, and form an incredible backcourt. They work well together, possessing great chemistry. Both can shoot, drive and pass, and it's next to impossible to stop both of them.

These kids are unselfish and focus solely on winning. They will be a great addition to whichever school they decide on, and they can take a mediocre school to the top 25.

These are their top destinations.

Southern Methodist

After cutting Baylor from their list and adding SMU, the Harrison twins' only option to stay in their home state of Texas is to join the Mustangs.

SMU has been dwelling in the basement of Conference USA for the last few years, but the Harrison twins could change that.

The Mustangs finished last season ranked 247th in assists per game, 253rd in field goal percentage, 322nd in points and 339th in rebounds per game. However, these twins make everyone around them better, and could help in all of those categories (including using their athleticism to grab rebounds).

The two would be the stars of the program at SMU, and would be given the power to run the show. They would also be able to stay close to their home in Richmond, TX.

Larry Brown will do his best to keep these kids close to home.

Villanova

Villanova was once a basketball powerhouse, but has been struggling in recent years. However, the Harrison twins are still considering the Wildcats, and have already visited (h/t Philadelphia Inquirer).

The Harrison twins would help expedite the rebuilding process at Nova, giving them a Top 25 team and the best backcourt in the nation.

The two could bring back elite basketball to a school that has stumbled in the last few years. The pair would easily help Nova reach the NCAA tournament, and the Wildcats need to land a pair like these two.

After finishing barely ahead of Providence and DePaul, Jay Wright needs to find a way to bring his team back to the Big Dance, and Andrew and Aaron Harrison would certainly help do that.

Kentucky

The lure of Kentucky basketball is unmistakable. The Wildcats are on top of the college basketball world right now after winning the national championship, John Calipari is freakishly good at recruiting and his teams always win, and they have one of the best fanbases in the country.

Almost every top recruit in the country is considering Kentucky, and Calipari is almost guaranteed to land a few of them. The Harrison twins could be among them.

Two top-notch guards would undoubtedly appeal to Calipari, and he can offer immediate, guaranteed success as a team, which is something that no other team on this list can offer at the moment.

These two, along with, say, Jabari Parker or Julius Randle would put UK in contention for yet another title, and that has to appeal to two kids who have always carried their teams.

The only question is whether or not winning it all is their top priority.

Maryland

Mark Turgeon's Maryland team needs stars like the Harrison twins if it is going to become elite again.

Maryland was once one of the best basketball schools in the country, but they have fallen off the pace in recent years. However, the addition of Andrew and Aaron Harrison would greatly help the rebuilding process.

These two could make an excellent connection with seven-footer Alex Len, who will be a junior when the twins come to college. And don't forget about Class of 2012 recruit Shaquille Cleare, who will be an elite player in college and is one of their best friends.

Throw in the fact that the two have family living in Baltimore, and the attraction of the school keeps building.

Maryland might be another rebuilding school, but they appear to be a top contender for the twins.
