Big FCW Altercation Leads To A Possible WWE Debut

As many know, the WWE has a developmental program called FCW. It is now the main base for all new and up and coming WWE stars. People like Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, and others have gone through there with success.

Not to mention all four I mentioned have had made a big name for themselves. Three out of the four have already been multiple time champions.

Rhodes has the most with three tag titles in his rookie year—one with Hardcore Holly and two with Ted Dibiase. But you would think that the next big star would be someone who has done well for a while in FCW. So that leaves one man who has made a huge name for himself.

He is former FCW Heavyweight Champion Sheamus O’Shaunessy. The Irishman has done well and has had big rivalries in FCW. The big one would have to be his rivalry with Joe Hennig.

The back and forth between them both was fun to watch. But now, he has lost the FCW Title and has been looking like a guy who needs to be brought up. And from what recently happened on FCW, that looks to be so.

Previously on FCW, they did an angle where ECW Diva Tiffany, representing Teddy Long, called out former FCW Heavyweight Champion Sheamus O’Shaunessy to talk about ECW.

Sheamus then talked crap about Finlay, Hornswoggle ,and Ricky Ortiz before Ortiz came out and got in Sheamus’ face which led to Sheamus shoving Tiffany and a brawl that Sheamus got the best of.

Sheamus was a pretty big deal when WWE signed him from overseas in 2007. And it is now 2009 and he seems to be the best they have right now in FCW.

I see him going up for at least a rivalry with Ricky Ortiz because he needs a rivalry too. Swagger seems to be his only rival and that looks to be gone since Christian Cage is now a member of the ECW roster.

Cage looks to be the next ECW Champion, so Swagger and Cage would be going at for a while. Therefore, Ortiz would need another rival—that is where O’Shaunessy comes in. He has had success in FCW and can hang with ECW guys.

Especially a guy like Ortiz, who in my mind is not even as good as O’Shaunessy in the ring. So this may make two careers here.

It may be the next Morrison and Punk feud for ECW. Many loved that feud and it really boosted both careers. Although that was for the ECW Title, this could be soon. Swagger or Cage may be drafted in April to SmackDown or RAW.

The rivalry could be over the ECW Title sooner rather than later. But, that is yet to be seen. I see O’Shaunessy moving up. And if he does come up within a few weeks then I would expect him to feud with Ortiz.

They may even bring the FCW altercation into play along with it. Which would be good exposure for them. Would you want to see O’Shaunessy on ECW?
