NFC North Daily: Hot Breakfast Links for June 18

Good morning. I hope you had a great weekend and if you're a Dad, a belated Happy Fathers Day!

Today could be a big day for the Packers and Anthony Hargrove, who is appealing his eight game suspension. I agree with the take I have heard that the League probably went high on the punishment so they could reduce the suspension and look better for it.

I'm not saying they're mustache-twirling masterminds of deviousness—it's just good public relations. They know the outcry the suspensions will cause so they leave themselves a little room to backpedal and not lose face.

Chicago Bears

Michael Wright reports the Bears have signed two tryout players after their performance in minicamp.

Brad Biggs had some thoughts on some unfinished business at the offensive line positions.

Detroit Lions

Lions defensive back Alphonso Smith says the secondary only really had two bad games in 2011, according to Anwar Richardson.

Over at the Detroit Free Press, defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham says he plans on having some chats with troubled Lions players.

Green Bay Packers

Remember how we were all impressed that the Packers were already talking to Aaron Rodgers about a contract extension? Not so fast, says spoilsport Jason Wilde.

Minnesota Vikings

Vikings minicamp starts tomorrow, so we'll likely have more Vikings to talk about over any other NFC North team. since everyone else has scattered to the hills.
