WWE: 4 Reasons Why You Can Miss SmackDown Tonight

Leonardo SplinterJun 1, 2018

WWE.com currently has an article entitled "SmackDown Five Point Preview: June 15, 2012," which basically gives reasons why fans can't miss SmackDown tonight.

You can read the reasons here, but I'd like to give you four reasons why you CAN miss SmackDown tonight.

1) Spoilers

Monday Night RAW

Weekend's Most Likely Heel/Face Turns 🎭

Spoilers, spoilers, spoilers. All you have to do to find out what's going to happen on SmackDown is head over to WrestleZone, PWInsider or even Bleacher Report. Needless to say, reading spoilers ruins the experience of watching SmackDown. There's no more mystery.

If you're strong enough to not read the spoilers, kudos to you. For the rest of us, shame on us.

2) SmackDown Isn't Broadcast Live

The definition of "raw" is "uncooked, in its natural state; not yet processed or purified." Monday Night Raw is exactly what its name implies it is: raw.

Unlike Raw, SmackDown feels very polished and edited. Did you hear those loud "Goldberg" chants this past Monday night on Raw during Ryback's squash match? Or how silent the crowd was during Sin Cara's match against Curt Hawkins? Well, if the matches were on SmackDown, the "Goldberg" chants would've been much quieter and the Sin Cara match would've been much louder. All thanks to WWE editing.

Raw is better than cooked when it comes to wrestling.

3) Full Episodes of SmackDown Are Posted to WWE's Official YouTube Account

Did you know that full episodes (nearly commercial free) of SmackDown are posted to WWE's YouTube account the day after SmackDown is broadcast?

That's great for people who missed the original airing, but where's the incentive to watch SmackDown on SyFy? Where's the incentive to sit through nearly 30 minutes of commercials?

4) The Top SmackDown Stars and Rivalries Are Featured on Raw

You'll often catch Sheamus and Daniel Bryan on Monday Night Raw, but good luck finding CM Punk or John Cena on SmackDown.

Sure, CM Punk and John Cena have been featured on SmackDown a few times, but Sheamus and Daniel Bryan have been on almost every Raw for quite some time now. Before SmackDown's Randy Orton was suspended, he was often on Raw as well.

What does this say about SmackDown?

Ultimately, SmackDown is a good show, but not nearly as good as Raw. But (in the words of Alberto Del Rio), you already knew that.
