WWE: 4 Potential Replacements for Alberto Del Rio at No Way Out
After a highly successful 2011, the Mexican Aristocrat, Alberto del Rio is unfortunately injured. The former luchador has suffered a concussion—an injury inflicted on him during last week's taping of SmackDown (via Wrestling Inc). This is the superstar's second injury, after pulling his groin earlier this year.
Now on the heels of the news that Alberto Del Rio's replacement at No Way Out will be announced on tonight's episode of Raw, one question remains: Who will be that replacement?
The Miz
1 of 4In 2011 the Miz was one of the top superstars on the WWE roster. Not only was the WWE champion, but he main-evented last year's WrestleMania. Now a year-removed, the Miz stands lost in the WWE's card.
Alberto Del Rio's injury could be the perfect opportunity to make this former champion relevant again.
David Otunga
2 of 4As John Laurinaitis' personal stooge, David Otunga seems like the logical choice to replace Alberto Del Rio in his match against Sheamus for the World Heavyweight title.
Otunga may be a little green for the World Title scene, but lord knows that's never stopped the WWE before.
Cody Rhodes
3 of 4After his loss to Christian at Over the Limit, this former Intercontinental Champion suddenly opened himself up for a promotion higher on the card.
Though still young, Cody Rhodes is one of the most talented rising superstars in the WWE and has through his work merited a chance at the World Heavyweight title.
Dolph Ziggler
4 of 4Perhaps no one else on this list merits this opportunity more than Dolph Ziggler.
His improvement in the ring and on the mic as well as his double duty at several PPV events last year prove that this former member of the Spirit Squad is ready for a real chance at the World Heavyweight Title. Let's hope the WWE makes the right choice.
