WWE Hinting at Inevitable Heel Turn for Christian?

Leonardo SplinterJun 4, 2012

Before Christian returned from injury as a babyface and defeated Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Championship, he was a heel who would incessantly ask for "one more match"—meaning a World Title rematch.

As a current article on WWE.com entitled "Is Christian Pulling a Con Job on the WWE Universe?" claims, "It's tough to trust an Intercontinental Champion with a crooked smile."

"

It just comes naturally for Christian, who, when relishing a moment or getting caught up in a spirited discussion with an adversary, grows a half-grin. The left side of his mouth curls to a smile while the right side rests somewhat taut and emotionless. It's part of his charm, part of being Captain Charisma. But it is also reminiscent of the times when Christian's grin accompanied his ill-willed acts inside the squared circle.

Considering a history of jealousy and other nefarious traits, what might Captain Charisma do to stay on top after injuries and setbacks kept him from it for so long?

WWE.com article or no WWE.com article, Christian's past heel turns prove that he cannot be trusted to stay babyface.

Christian's most recent heel turn happened nearly a year ago.

At Extreme Rules 2011, Christian (as a babyface) defeated Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. Later that week on SmackDown, Christian lost the title to Randy Orton. As a result, Christian turned heel and stayed heel until his most recent return.

In The Dark Knight, Joker tells Batman,

"

Their (Gotham) morals, their code... it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these uh, these "civilized people," they'll eat each other.

"

Ultimately, you could substitute "Gotham" with "Christian" and "eat each other" with "turn heel" and Joker's statement will probably still be true.

Will Christian inevitably turn heel again? If and when Christian loses his Intercontinental Championship, will he return to his old ways in order to get it back or get "one more match"? What happens if he loses it to Cody Rhodes (a heel)? With Randy Orton (a babyface) out for 60 days with a suspension, can WWE afford to turn Christian heel?

Do you want Christian to turn heel? Is it in his nature to be a heel?
