The BIG Heel/Face Turns to Come In '09

Ladies and Peeps, Children of all ages and the millions watching at home...welcome to my second article in what I hope will be an ongoing series.

On with the show.

Looking ahead post-WM25, the landscape of WWE is sure to change—none more so with some significant Face and Heel turns. So let's get to it, who is going to be taking which side as we enter the new WWE calendar??

Lets start with the big dogs...

I predict a triumphant return for one Cute Kip aka Billy Gunn aka Mr Ass, where he will totally dominate the enti....just messing.

Randy "RKO" Orton: Face turn

He hears voices in his head, they talk to him, they council him, he punts you in the head. Whether WWE like it or not, the "RKO, RKO" chants are getting louder by the week. The more they push him to the stars, the more the fans lap it up. When he squares off against Cena at WM25 you can bet your bottom dollar that the "Cena Sucks" sing-song will emanate around the stadium, only drowned out by the "Lets Go Orton" chants.

People are taking to Ortons' Viper character for one reason or another and eventually, the fans will simply cheer him into a face position, just like they did The Rock many years ago. Do I think they will tweak Orton's character? No, not one bit, nor should they. He will get turned on by Priceless, at a guess, around Summerslam and feud with Ted Jr.

But he will remain the quintessential anti-hero and by years end, I predict will be WWE's biggest face..which leads us to.....

John "Ice Ice Baby" Cena: Heel turn..finally!

His time is up, his time is now, you can't see him, he's a rapping-soldier-marine-invulnerable-kinda hybrid..thing. Oh, apparently he'll brush your teeth like Colgate. It's ya boiii, John Ceeeeenaaaa.

Cena's turn is not an inevitability, but it is necessary. If WWE want to keep their main man relevant, they need to switch up his character a bit, cause while the fans still respond to him, I can see that dwindling over the next couple of years unless he does something to hold their interest.

As Orton takes over as top face (it will happen), it frees up room for a new heel—who better than Mr Five-Knuckle Shuffle? I predict a frustrated Cena siding with a heel GM or McMahon and making the turn sometime towards the end of the year, which could potentially lead to a Taker/Cena feud.

I actually think the fans would embrace a heel Cena and could bring him back naturally as a face, rather than the ram job they have done over the last few years. 

Triiiippppllleee Haithhhhhhh (HHH): Heel turn.

Behold the King, the King of Kings, there can only be one (unless you count The Macho King, Jerry The King Lawler, King Mabel and er, King Kong Bundy...) anyway, behold him..and his incredibly hot wife.

The Haitch is due a heel turn. He wants it. We need it. It will happen. HHH is a great face but even better heel. I would go so far as to say he is the best heel in the industry. HHH looks bored as a face, and I'm kinda surprised it wasn't him behind Hardy's attacks. I think he has exhausted his face feuds on Smackdown, bar Edge (which does nothing for me but that's another article). I think he will do a swerve at some point and turn on Taker.

There is no way these two won't feud as its a money match. I predict a Taker/HHH Summerslam showdown. Look out for his beard. If he shaves his beard, he is going heel. Beard HHH = face. Naked chin HHH = heel.

Unless of course Hunter tears a Quad again, in which case...expect some promos, some rehab and a triumphant returning Face HHH...with a beard..and a hot wife.

Edge The Rated "Where's Christian" Superstar: Face turn..but hold on...

Edge. Rated "R" for "R"eally Too Skinny To Pull Off a Spear. Dude, change your finisher, it looks stupid hitting a spear on HHH or Taker or Batista and believing it would hurt them.  

Anyway, Edge I think is going to slowly turn face, coinciding with Christian's return, teaming with the Instant Classic, turning his back on Vickie. But......at some point farily soon after they team, I fully expect him to turn on his blonde buddy and return to Miss EXCUSE ME!

I think Edge is too over as a heel and just wouldn't have that same level of heat as a face, so I can't see him staying with Christian for long. But I do see a feud, again, probably heading into Summerslam between the two "brothers" of blonde.

The Big Show: er...what is he now?

Weeeyyyylllllll, Well it's the Big Slow...

This week heel. Next week. Face. Week after that, heel. Following week face...aaaaannnnd repeat

MVP: face turn to big heel push

Is that an MVP yeah you know me. He's coming, nobody can't stop him, noone can hold him, nobody gonna control him...well apart from Kung Fu Naki, R-Truth, Jamie Noble, Some jobber I forgot the name of on Smackdown and Hornswoggle (probably).

MVP's face turn continues. He'll get a nice push I believe, but then turn heel for a further push into main event land. I can see an MVP/Cena feud for some reason...one as face, one as heel of course.

MRRRRRRRRR Kennedy: heel turn

Mr Kenne'meh' aka Mr Glass...his failed face push will continue, and the audience will continue to pretty much not care. He needs a heel turn and a new gimmick. Saying your own name isn't cool, clever or entertaining. Check this out..."Scott Kane", nope, didn't entertain me. So, lets repackage him a bit, turn him heel and maybe see where we can get with the outspoken one.

Umaga: face turn

The Ugandan Gi...no wait, the Samoan Cement Mixer...no, hang on, the Samoan Cheeseburger...Umaga, Umanga, OOOMMMAAAAAGAAAHHHHH!!

He will go face pretty soon and as such will dwell in the mid-card. This guy needs to be heel to get a shot at main eventing. He'll feud with Shelton Benjamin I imagine, or Kane.

Lastly...Vince Mcmahon: heel turn

The return of the Big mac. The Quarter Pounder with Cheese himself, Bad Vince will return. I see him teaming with Cena towards end of the year and taking down RKO.

OK, so I think that about covers the main turns I think will happen post-Mania 25. What are your thoughts?
