WWE's Best Match of the Week: CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan on Raw (May 28)
Daniel Bryan and CM Punk have faced off a number of times over the last six months or so, and each time they stepped in the ring against each other, a great match resulted.
So when it was announced on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw that Punk would face Bryan once again later that night, I was naturally excited once again.
Of course, I knew this meant that we probably wouldn’t get Punk vs. Bryan one-on-one at No Way Out, but hey, I’ll take a phenomenal match any day of the week.

And much to the surprise of, well, no one, we got yet another TV classic from Bryan and Punk this week.
It’s no secret these two superstars are among the most-praised wrestlers on the planet, but they prove night in and night that that praise is indeed warranted.
Monday night was no different.
Though there was no real hype for this match (why not announce it beforehand?), that didn’t matter as Punk and Bryan put on a wrestling clinic.
While technical wrestling isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, that’s exactly what the latest Punk vs. Bryan match centered on.
It wasn’t a spot-fest or a match with a ton of “oh my god” moments. Bryan and Punk did what every superstar should try to do every time he steps in the ring: Wrestle.
The technical wrestling between this two was once again fantastic, as we’ve grown to expect out of arguably the top two technical wrestlers in the WWE at the moment. Even the finish was well-executed, with Bryan pulling out an old-school heel move by using the exposed turnbuckle finish to get a reasonably clean win over Punk, who hardly ever loses these days.
Not only was it nice to see a great match from start to finish, but it was a joy to see Bryan pick up a big win that earned him another WWE Championship shot.
