NFC South Morning Jog: Carolina Panthers' WR Depth Chart Set at Top

Each morning, I like to start the day off with a workout—usually a morning jog. I can clear my head, plan my day, and think about what’s going on around the NFC South.

Carolina Panthers

Apparently head coach Ron Rivera already has his wide receiver depth chart set. It's Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell at the top spots with David Gettis as No. 3

If there is one person who is allowed to be unhappy with the way the offense worked last year, it's Smith. Without a viable option opposite of him, the veteran receiver had to work really hard for all his success. Now offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski is working hard to install new looks in the offense, and that makes Smith very happy.

Cam Newton hasn't made an appearance yet on the NFL Network's "Top 100: Players of 2012" list. But Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford came in at No. 41 Wednesday, which begs the question: is Newton better than Stafford?

Atlanta Falcons

Here's an interesting take on NFL franchises who are very good at drafting quarterbacks. With their last two first-round grabs being Matt Ryan and Mike Vick, I can see why Atlanta is on this list.
