5 Reasons Randy Orton's Suspension Can Help the WWE
Now, upon reading this headline you may think that I have lost my mind.
That is not the case, nor am I attempting to write a story that is trollish in manner. Instead, I am attempting to find a silver lining for the WWE's current position.
Now, under any other circumstance, I would not try to put a positive spin on Wellness Policy Violation. However, the WWE has found themselves in a bit of a spot, since Chris Jericho's 30-day suspension.
As we witnessed last week, the WWE was beginning to build up an Orton-Jericho feud. Then the Brazil incident happened, leaving the WWE with no opponent for Orton at No Way Out.
Now, with the news of Orton's suspension the WWE is free and clear of trying to put Orton in a meaningless feud. Let's face it, we have enough crappy matches thrown together in order to produce a pay-per-view card.
Ultimately, with a little over two weeks left, the WWE has a real chance to build up some amazing storylines for No Way Out and beyond.
Keep in mind, you may completely disagree with my opinion, and if that's the case, feel free to speak your mind in the comments section.
Allows WWE to Focus on a Mid-Card Storyline
1 of 5For several years, we have been missing a classic mid-card storyline.
At one time, the WWE was able to make the mid-card as relevant—if not more relevant—as the main event.
For instance, Jake Roberts and Rick Rude were involved in a feud of the heart. Neither man had a title, yet still managed to work a great storyline involving Roberts' wife.
Ultimately, Rude played a super-heel, while Roberts defended the honor of his wife. Fans were easily sucked in and pulled for Roberts almost as hard as they booed Rude.
In the end, the WWE may have no choice but to look to its past, in order to figure out how to put the focus back into the mid-carders.
Potential of Seeing More Title Defences at No Way out
2 of 5With Jericho and Orton both out, there is now room for both mid-card titles to be defended.
Chances are, Cody Rhodes and Christian were going to be squaring off at No Way Out.
However, Santino Marella is really not involved in a real feud for the U.S. title.
Ultimately, creative can easily get Marella involved in a feud for his title, allowing it to culminate at No Way Out.
Let's not forget, the Tag and Diva's titles are both slowly making a resurgence in the WWE and also need to be defended at the upcoming pay-per-view.
Gives Wrestlers a Reason to Step-Up
3 of 5Zack Ryder is proof that if you work your tail off and think out of the box, you can become relevant.
Unfortunately, the WWE roster is not full of Zack Ryder's. Many of the talents are happy just being a part of the WWE roster and aren't sure how they can move their careers forward.
Now, more than ever, the rest of the roster must find their voices and start showing the WWE that they are ready for the big-time. If this doesn't happen now, these stars may find themselves "future endeavored" before they know what hit them.
The Miz Can Regain His His Spot
4 of 5In the course of a year, The Miz went from main-eventer to lower mid-card hell.
However, with Jericho and Orton out, The Miz could seize this chance to regain a spot on the main-event roster.
Ultimately, the WWE will have to make that decision, but at this point they may have no choice but to once again push The Miz.
Forces the WWE to Rethink Their Booking
5 of 5WWE's booking department solely exists to produce a fresh and creative product.
However, many fans feel they have become stale by relying too much on WWE staples like Randy Orton.
Let's face it, the summer season is upon us and the WWE has been known to stir things up as they head into SummerSlam.
Without Jericho, Orton and Mysterio, the creative department will have to step back and take a good look at the roster and figure out how to utilize other wrestlers.
