NBA Lottery 2012 Start Time: When and Where to Watch Anthony Davis Sweepstakes
The NBA Draft Lottery is tonight, and the prize on most fans' and executives' minds is Kentucky star Anthony Davis. He is just off a freshman season that saw him lead his team to a national championship and claim the Naismith Award; I'd say he is a hot commodity.
As the consensus choice for the No. 1 pick, this lottery is essentially about what jersey Davis will be wearing next season.
Here are the specifics you need to know to watch the lottery live:
When: Tonight, 8 PM ET
Where: Disney/ABC's Time Square Studio
TV Coverage: ESPN
I like Davis as a defender, rebounder and athlete, but I'm not sold on the other aspects of his game. While some may believe there is a huge gap between Davis and every other player, I don't see it that way.
In fact, Kansas star Thomas Robinson is my early pick for NBA Rookie of the Year, and UConn freshman Andre Drummond has the most superstar potential. That said, Davis is still a very talented prospect who will be productive for any team fortunate enough to win the lottery.
He's not a player that is going to come in and change a franchise like the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bobcats are too far gone, and Davis isn't LeBron James or a player of that magnitude.
You could see Davis make a more immediate impact if one of the long shots win the lottery. The Rockets would get a great boost by adding Davis as they already have decent talent that saw them just miss the postseason.
The Kings would have one of the most talented young nuclei in the league if they tabbed Davis. A starting five of Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Thornton, Tyreke Evans, Davis and DeMarcus Cousins would be formidable.
There are some intriguing scenarios, but those scenarios will become a little more concrete tonight. Check it out and stay tuned for more analysis and information on the NBA Draft.
