Impact Wrestling Preview: TNA Goes Live with a New Time, Sting vs Roode and More
It’s Thursday again, and that means a new episode of TNA Impact Wrestling!
This isn’t just any episode, though, as TNA Wrestling goes live. In fact, they’re staying that way the entire summer. Not only is the show going live, the two-hour weekly televised show is moving to 8 p.m.
For the beginning of TNA’s summer bash, they have confirmed two matches, a debut and hype for Slammiversary.

Let’s see what TNA has in store for the fans this week!
Bobby Roode vs. Sting: Non-Title Lumberjack Match
On last week’s episode, Bobby Roode retained his TNA World Heavyweight Championship against A.J. Styles. With his victory came the breaking of a record.
Roode is now the longest-reigning champion in TNA history, but he didn’t have much time to celebrate.
General manager Hulk Hogan gave the champion quite the gift after the match in the form of a returning Sting. The Icon returned to TNA in full gear and attacked his foe.
Hogan then announced that Roode would face the Stinger with lumberjacks surrounding the ring and that the match would open this live episode.
Sting will no doubt be looking for revenge on Bobby Roode for forcing him out of the general manager position while Roode will want to cut Sting’s return short.
Who will gain victory as TNA goes live? How will this affect the world title match at Slammiversary?
Brooke Hogan to Debut: How Will the Knockouts React to Their New Boss?
After TNA made the exciting announcement that they were going live, they followed up with another announcement that wasn’t as such.
The Knockouts have seen a few authority figures over the years, including Traci Brooks as Knockout Law and Karen Jarrett as the executive of the division, but they've also seen Sting and Hulk Hogan makes the decisions.
Now the Knockout’s division has a new boss in the form of new executive in charge of the division, Brooke Hogan.
She failed at being a singer and at being a reality star, so now she’s going to follow in daddy’s footsteps.
What will Brooke Hogan’s first order of business be? How will the Knockouts react to having Hulk Hogan’s little girl telling them what to do?
Devon to Defend the Television Championship Against an Opponent Voted by the Fans
When Hulk Hogan became the general manager of Impact Wrestling, the legendary wrestler made some changes to the show. One of them was Open Fight Night while another was concerning the TNA Television Championship.
He wanted TNA’s version of the title to be like the television titles of his day and told Devon that he would be defending his belt each and every week.
The champion has done that, except for two weeks ago when he competed for a shot at the world title.
Last week, he got back on track in a defense against Garret Bischoff, successfully retaining the title in a no-contest after Robbie E and Robbie T interfered.
This week, Devon will continue to defend his title, but now he’ll face an opponent of the fans' choosing. The TNA fans will have a choice of four wrestlers: Rob Van Dam, Mr. Anderson, Robbie E or a wrestler yet to be announced as of this writing.
Who will get voted into the match? Will that chosen wrestler be able to capture gold?
10 Years in the Making: The Hype for Slammiversary Continues
It has been a decade since TNA’s inception and the company’s big 10th anniversary show is coming up on June 10. Throughout their 10 years, TNA has seen some very memorable moments.
From Elix Skipper walking the top of the cage in the main event of Turning Point 2004 to the debut of Hulk Hogan, TNA Wrestling has filled its decade of existence with moment after moment.
As Slammiversary X approaches, the company looks to celebrate 10 years with a bang. At the moment, they only have one match booked for the show, but it’s certainly quite the match. TNA has booked Christopher Daniels and Kazarian to defend their World Tag Team Championship against the dream team of A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle.
With five more titles remaining, expect at least three of them to also be defended, as World champion Bobby Roode, X-Division champion Austin Aries and Knockouts champion Gail Kim will no doubt be on the card.
The Television Championship has been defended regularity on PPV since Devon won it, so that title could very well be featured as well.
With just one match booked, TNA will no doubt be setting up a good portion of the card this week.
What does TNA Wrestling have in store for the fans as Slammiversary draws closer?
This week’s episode will certainly shape the foundation of Impact Wrestling for the rest of the summer.
How will going live affect TNA Wrestling? Tune in at 8 p.m. to find out!
