Why WWE Made Huge Mistake with Big Show Heel Turn

Over the Limit brought hope that John Laurinaitis would be relieved of his duties as General Manager of Raw and Smackdown. John Cena had victory secured, but then it happened.

Big Show appeared and knocked John Cena out cold. He let Laurinaitis win the match. Big Show officially turned heel with this one move.

This is where the WWE made a mistake. Having Big Show turn heel, especially under these circumstances, was a big mistake.

First off, Big Show was embarrassed and fired by Laurinaitis for impersonating his voice. If Laurinaitis would have lost to Cena at Over the Limit, Big Show could have gotten his job back. Helping Laurinaitis win made no sense, thus making his heel turn questionable.

Also, Big Show's heel turn puts him in the main event scene when he should be putting over talent at this point in his career. I get that his physical stature makes him intriguing in a main event, but Big Show is not a young man anymore. He can't move around like he used to.

Even after he helped Laurinaitis beat Cena, he didn't have to pledge his allegiance toward him. It really makes no sense. He was still embarrassed by Laurinaitis and fired on national TV. He could have helped him, still turned heel and not pledged allegiance with Laurinaitis.

I would have preferred Big Show to get the Teddy Long treatment than turn completely against the crowd and become buddies with Laurinaitis. Having Laurinaitis force Big Show to compete in unfair matches against baby faces against his will would be intriguing enough to where whenever Laurianaitis' downfall happened, Big Show could help lead the revolution.

Under the current circumstances, Big Show's heel turn has been a head-scratcher. From screwing up the storyline when the contract was signed to having Big Show suddenly join Laurinaitis' crusade, it has all made little to no sense. I love Big Show as a heel in general, but this heel turn has been a blunder so far.
