Dana White Says Vitor Belfort out of UFC 147 with Broken Hand

Big news continues to roll in from the UFC 146 post-fight press conference as news broke that Vitor Belfort is out of his fight with Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147 in Brazil. The two fighters spent time as opposing coaches on the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil. 

UFC 147 was originally supposed to be one of the biggest cards in UFC history as they planned to hold the event at a outdoor soccer stadium. When the stadium fell through, the main event of Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen was moved to Las Vegas at UFC 148.

With no Vitor Belfort, this will be yet another season of The Ultimate Fighter that falls apart due to a coach sustaining an injury. In the United State, Dominick Cruz was pulled from his title defense against Urijah Faber that was scheduled to take place at UFC 148. 

While no replacement has been named yet, it is expected that Wanderlei remains on the card in the main event. I wouldn't be surprised if a fighter like Alan Belcher is asked to step in on short notice to face Silva. It would definitely be appreciated by the UFC staff who continue to rearrange cards due to injuries.
