UFC 146: Dana White Confirms Brock Lesnar May Return to UFC
Is Brock Lesnar on his way back to the UFC after a brief return to the WWE?
"Possibly, yeah," UFC President Dana White answered in response to that question during the post-fight press conference.
White's answer was also joined by a smile, as if to say that he knew more than he was letting on.
The former UFC heavyweight champion left the promotion, retiring from the sport following a loss to Alistair Overeem in late-2011. Most believed that there were multiple reasons for his departure from the sport, including an ongoing battle with the intestinal disease diverticulitis as well as a simple desire to be with his family more often.
His time at home didn't last long, though, as the former UFC champion went back to a prior employer, the WWE, where he quickly saw himself back in the picture with professional wrestling's biggest star, John Cena.
Lesnar main-evented a pay-per-view called "Extreme Rules" against Cena in late-April. He was then involved in an on-screen altercation with Triple H, which culminated in Lesnar "quitting" the company. He has not been seen since.
Perhaps Lesnar's momentary return to the WWE was simply that and nothing more. It appears as if there may be a real chance that we will see the former UFC champion back in the cage in the future.
