UFC 146 Results: Glover Teixeira Is a LHW Threat Right Now

The Facebook preliminaries have allowed fight fans to watch bouts that would have otherwise been witnessed only by those in attendance and fans who purchase the DVD.

Tonight, they allowed fans to see the UFC 146 debut of light-heavyweight fighter Glover Teixeira. 

Squaring off against Ultimate Fighter contestant Kyle Kingsbury, Teixeira made it immediately clear that his hands have massive power. Kingsbury has gone toe-to-toe with impressive strikers like Fabio Maldonado and Jared Hamman, but it was obvious after the first punch that he was aware that he was swimming in dangerous waters.

As if his formidable striking prowess weren't enough, Teixeira didn't hesitate to follow Kingsbury to the canvas after a knockdown. Once there, he quickly took his opponent's back, threw bombs and moved into mount. 

When Kingsbury leaned forward in hopes of sweeping his opponent, he left his arm in a precarious position. Teixeira showed impressive grappling skills as he immediately secured an arm-triangle choke for the first-round submission.

The debut was so impressive that it aired three times tonight: live on Facebook, a replay on the FX broadcast and once again after the main event.

Teixeira is now riding a 16-fight winning streak that also includes victories over UFC veterans Sokoudjou, Marvin Eastman and former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez.

The level of talent that he has previously defeated is indicative of where he should be in the UFC light-heavyweight division, and that is a place well beyond the Kyle Kingsburys of the world.

This is a notice to any fighter who clocks in at 205 pounds. Glover Teixeira is coming for you.
