WWE Rumors: American Idol Singer to Perform at SummerSlam?
As reported on Pwtorch.com, WWE hinted in its June issue of WWE Magazine that a former American Idol runner-up is in negotiations to perform at SummerSlam.
Exactly which singer this is remains a secret.
The list of American Idol runner-ups boasts some solid performers, but no one that WWE fans care about seeing.

Bringing in celebrities can be a viable way to create buzz for an event, but resorting to pulling names off the C-list is a waste of time.
Concerts that usurp match time are generally a bad idea. Was WrestleMania 28 better off having had Flo Rida perform?
There isn't an American Idol runner-up with a big enough name to accomplish what WWE wants.
But even if a performer as famous as Jay-Z or Metallica were to sign on, they run the risk of having fans tune out.
Musical taste is so varied that any act is sure to not interest a significant chunk of the audience.
A set by Aiken, Lambert or David Archuleta or Bo Bice is only going to allow for a trip to the kitchen.
More importantly, it's going to shorten or eliminate wrestling matches.
Few wrestling fans would be willing to trade away time seeing their favorite superstars for a medley by a former American Idol runner-up.
