7 Committed Recruits Who Will Likely Visit Other Schools
Sometimes we forget in recruiting that when a prospect makes a commitment, that it's just a verbal agreement saying that the prospect will sign with that school when National Signing Day comes.
Key phrase: verbal.
Nothing is signed yet and the prospect is free to continue to speak with other schools and take his trips wherever he sees fit. The latter is what we're focusing on for this piece, as the following players are committed, but will most likely take trips to other schools.
Here we go.
7. Kyle Fitts, DE
1 of 7Fitts is committed to USC and I think he eventually will end up a Trojan. He's a 6'4", 260-pound DE that will look around just to make sure he's doing the right thing.
According to Scout.com, Fits has told USC that he will likely go visit UCLA, Notre Dame, Georgia and Wisconsin.
I wouldn't be too concerned Trojan fans, but it's not over until it's over.
6. Austin Golson, OT
2 of 7Florida State has been making very good progress lately in snatching up elite Alabama talent, and Golson is the latest get for the 'Noles.
At 6'6" and 270 pounds, Golson has solid bend and is a wall-off type instead of a physical mauler. He really excels in pass protection.
The Alabama native is pledged to FSU, but likely will trip to both Alabama and Auburn, per Scout.com.
5. Daniel McMillan, LB
3 of 7McMillan is probably the best linebacker prospect in Florida this year and can play all three spots in a 4-3 alignment with a 6'2", 220-pound frame.
He's committed to Florida, however, he's going to take all of his trips. Per Scout.com, Gainesville will be a stop, but so will Alabama, Florida State, Clemson and Ohio State.
Anything can happen with this one.
4. O.J. Howard, TE
4 of 7I really like the high ceiling of Howard, as he's a 6'5", 225-pound TE prospect with elite athleticism.
Howard committed to Alabama a very long time ago, but Auburn has remained in the picture. Per Scout.com, Howard has gone to the Plains fairly frequently, and I think he'll likely take an official visit to Auburn in the fall.
I big time trip to Auburn would really make this interesting before signing day.
3. Derrick Griffin, WR/TE
5 of 7Griffin is a 6'6", 220-pound WR prospect from Texas that also could grow into a TE. He's pledged to Texas A&M and would give the Aggies a prime-time pass catcher for the future.
Griffin recently told Scout.com in a video interview, that he wants to take some trips. He mentioned Alabama, LSU and Oregon as places he wants to go see.
2. Derrick Henry, RB
6 of 7Henry is a big RB from Florida that is 6'3" and weighs over 240 pounds. He committed to Georgia as a junior, but right now he doesn't sound too firmed up.
Henry recently mentioned to Scout.com that he's open and really thinking about Alabama. It appears Tuscaloosa will see Henry in town on June 8 and probably even again in the fall.
I'd be sweating this one, Dawg fans.
1. Reuben Foster, LB
7 of 7Foster has been committed to Alabama for what seems like forever, and I actually think he will end up there when it's all said and done.
Yet, he wants to travel and see the world and this is an opportunity to do it, thus he's taking it.
Foster told Scout.com that he will go see USC, South Carolina and Hawaii for official visits. He also states that he's still interested in Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas.
