Twitter Reacts: Do Jets, Dolphins or Bills Pose Biggest Threat to Pats in 2012?

Erik FrenzMay 23, 2012

The New England Patriots have been the dominant force in the AFC East, and the AFC as a whole, for over a decade. But their time at the top has to come to an end at some point, right?

Could that year be 2012? And if so, who poses the biggest threat of the remaining teams in the division?

That question was posed today on Twitter, and the result was heavy in favor of the Bills.

In the end, eight voted for the Bills while five voted for the Jets. Check out some of the best answers in my Storify post.

Adding defensive ends Mario Williams and Mark Anderson while re-signing several players in wide receiver Stevie Johnson and running back Fred Jackson has definitely changed the public perception of the Bills.

If the team can sustain the success they experienced at the beginning of the season, when they went 5-2, while building on that with the improvements they made this offseason, they could be one of the better teams in the NFL. It will come down to Ryan Fitzpatrick playing consistently for the duration of the season and the defense—not just Mario, but the unit as a whole—living up to some lofty expectations.

Who do you think will be the biggest contender to the AFC East crown in 2012? Let your feelings be known in the comments section below.
