WWE Diva Diagnosis: Will AJ Start a Romantic Relationship with CM Punk?
AJ has gone from sweet and innocent to shady and crazy.
She’s absolutely lost her mind since WrestleMania 28, and that was never more evident than it was on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
In a backstage segment with CM Punk, AJ showed every emotion from sad to angry to happy, resulting in Punk telling AJ that he digs “crazy chicks.”

Clearly, the WWE is teasing that Punk and AJ are going to get romantically involved at some point. However, it’s hard to tell whether this is a red herring that's meant to throw us off, purely a tease, AJ setting the stage to screw Punk over or something else entirely.
The storyline is being played up on Twitter, with AJ tweeting, "I sort of dig guys that sort of dig crazy chicks." Punk played along by re-tweeting it.
It’s obvious that—unless the WWE completely drops this storyline out of nowhere—something is going to happen between Punk and AJ. We just don’t know what that something is.
I thought that AJ would interfere in the WWE title match between Punk and Bryan at Over the Limit and cost one of them the bout. However, I’m still not sure which one she’s going to screw over, whether that be inadvertently or on purpose.
Either AJ is going after Punk purely to spite Bryan and make him jealous (and ultimately have him take her back), or AJ genuinely is interested in Punk.
No matter what the scenario is, one can assume that AJ is going to have to get involved in this rivalry at some point.
It’s been teased so many times, but hasn’t happened yet. It seems like the creative team is slowly building towards getting AJ involved in the feud, and perhaps even romantically involved with Punk.
There are lots of ways that this could play out, but here’s how I see it going (well, perhaps how I’d like to see it go):
Punk and AJ continue to flirt throughout the build to No Way Out, but nothing happens between them before then.
AJ, thinking she’s falling for Punk because of the sexual tension between them, interferes in Punk vs. Bryan at No Way Out and helps Punk retain the title. Although Punk isn’t thrilled that she helped him win the match, he can’t help himself anymore and starts a romantic relationship with her.
An incensed Bryan demands another rematch because of AJ’s interference and her relationship with Punk, and he gets that rematch at Money in the Bank.
At MITB, AJ is ringside with Punk. When she thinks Punk is going to lose, she interferes, but inadvertently costs Punk the match and ends his WWE title reign.
Punk is furious with AJ (much like Bryan was), and their relationship starts to slowly deteriorate. Punk goes on to face Bryan in a rematch (the final match of this PPV series) at SummerSlam, and an inadvertent distraction from AJ costs him the match and his last shot at the WWE title.
Bryan moves on as WWE champion, Punk dumps AJ, AJ goes even crazier than she has been recently, and this leads to new feuds for Punk and Bryan and a bona fide heel turn for a now completely psychotic AJ.
This storyline would make AJ’s current angle with Punk serve some sort of purpose, tie into the whole AJ/Bryan drama and continue AJ’s turn into the crazy ex-girlfriend who has good intentions but always seems to screw up.
It would be one angle that results in a series of great PPV matches, a WWE title win for Bryan and some much needed development of the Divas division.
Sounds like a win-win-win to me.
