NFLPA Files Collusion Suit Against NFL Owners
The NFL Players Association has filed a suit against the NFL and its owners for alleged collusion during the 2010 football season.
This claim details an apparent conspiracy in which owners agreed to not exceed a secret $123 million salary cap in a year when no actual boundary existed.
Domonique Foxworth, a free-agent cornerback and president of the Players Association, had this to say about the impending lawsuit:

"Our union recently learned that there was a secret salary cap agreement in an uncapped year. The complaint today is our effort to fulfill our duty to every NFL player. They deserve to know, above all, the facts and the truth about this conspiracy.
"
New York Giants owner John Mara is the source being cited for bringing the collusion between the league and the owners to public light. He reportedly stated that the league ordered a restriction on player salaries in 2010.
When asked about imposed penalties for the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys, he replied, “What they did was in violation of the spirit of the salary cap. They attempted to take advantage of a one-year loophole…full well knowing there would be consequences.”
Albert Breer of the NFL Network found that the Players Association is claiming that certain contracts by the Cowboys, Redskins, New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders were given to conceal the $123 million secret cap.
The Players Association’s suit states that:
"[The NFL and its owners] failed to disclose to the players or the NFLPA “that the true reason for the then-proposed reallocation was to penalize the Redskins, Cowboys, Raiders, and Saints for not fully abiding by the Collusive Agreement."
"
The claim has been filed in the United States District Court of Minnesota and will likely go to court in the future.
