WWE News: Major Feud Coming Up for Cody Rhodes?
The recent booking of Cody Rhodes has been, to put it mildly, not very good.
Since WrestleMania 28, he’s lost the Intercontinental title twice, lost far more matches than he’s won and been booked to put over guys he has no business losing to, including The Great Khali and Santino Marella.
This has made for an interesting story because many fans, like me, have assumed that one of two things is going on: Either Rhodes has some backstage heat, or he lost the Intercontinental title to rise up to the main event level.

Well, as it turns out, it could very well be the latter.
"Cody Rhodes indicated earlier this week on Twitter that he would be taking some time off. This is not the case as Cody will appear on this week’s WWE SmackDown to respond to Christian defeating him for the Intercontinental Title at Over the Limit. No word yet if Cody will take time off after the next pay-per-view.
News came out this weekend that over the past few months, WWE officials were discussing Cody for a potential feud against WWE Champion CM Punk.
"
Yes. Finally, a creative decision I can get on board with.
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Rhodes. I think he’s one of the best overall talents in the company. Thus, it’s been a bit disheartening to see him waste away in the mid-card, especially when he’s been booked so awfully lately.
Rhodes is simply too good to be an afterthought. He should be a main eventer.
The only major baby face that Rhodes has feuded with so far is Randy Orton. Therefore, realistically speaking, having Rhodes feud with Sheamus, John Cena or CM Punk would make sense.
That being said, the rivalry I want to see the most is, of course, Punk vs. Rhodes.
I love what’s currently going on between Punk and Daniel Bryan. However, if Punk is still WWE champion once his rivalry with Bryan concludes (likely after a series of PPV matches), I’d love to see the creative team book a feud between Rhodes and Punk.
Punk has faced a big chunk of the WWE’s top stars over the last year or so, but Rhodes is someone he’s never really crossed paths with. The potential for a fresh feud that people actually want to see is definitely there.
Rhodes would give Punk a new opponent, and in all likelihood, a hell of a feud and an even better series of matches.
