Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
BR: Interesting draft for the Jaguars. Are fans more excited about Justin Blackmon or irritated by the selection of Bryan Anger in the third round?
BB: The mood at the live draft party was absolutely incredible after the Jaguars selected Blackmon. While I'm hopeful that he will turn out to be the true No. 1 WR since the Jimmy Smith days, I'm not 100 percent sure he is Calvin Johnson/Larry Fitzgerald elite. But even with that excitement, I can say that most fans felt embarrassment after the third round selection of the punter Anger. It was more of a kick to the stomach after having a great couple of picks, that it knocked many fans off of that "we got Blackmon" pedestal.
BR: What's the mood among Jags fans right now? Do they still believe in Gene (Smith, general manager)?
BB: The general consensus is an impatient trust. Jaguar fans can get the "sky is falling" sickness so quickly that they ignore the fact that this team could very well be on the verge of a breakout season with a top five (and deep) defense, an All-Pro Running in MJD (Maurice Jones-Drew), and a wide receiving corp that has been heavily upgraded in this short offseason.
BR: Is there anything left you'd like to see the Jaguars do between now and the start of the season?
BB: I'd really like to see some great chemistry and camps out of Blaine Gabbert. He has to take the reins this year and prove he is THE guy. He showed brief flashes of his leadership capabilities last year, but they were very few and far between. If Gabbert can get some quick chemistry with his revamped receiver group and Marcedes Lewis bounces back from an off year, this offense could surprise a lot of people!
