Montpellier Owner Dons Orange and Blue Mohawk to Celebrate Title Win

Friends don't let friends wear orange-and-blue mohawks.

Unless, of course, a wager is involved.

The man you see pictured here, believe it or not, owns a title-winning football club—Montpellier, to be exact. His name is Louis Nicollin, and his underdog band of players beat big-spending Paris Saint-Germain to the French Ligue 1 title this season.

Montpellier clinched the title with a riot-filled 2-1 win at Auxerre on Sunday. Within hours, Nicollin was wearing an orange-and-blue mohawk.

Why? Who Ate All The Pies explains:

"

With an annual budget of just £27 million, little Montpellier beat Auxerre to win their first ever Ligue 1 title on the final day of the French season at the weekend, knocking nouvelle riche fatcats Paris Saint-Germain back into second spot in the process – which meant that, courtesy of a bold wager made back in April, Montpellier’s owner, 68-year old businessman Louis Nicollin, had to do this to his hair (orange and blue being MHSC’s club colours)…

"

On the bright side, Nicollin can now travel to America and fit in with the fans of several college football teams. As the owner of an underdog, he might fit in well with Boise State, but if he's looking for the best college football experience, he might consider Florida or Auburn.

But wait, it gets better. According to the French translators over at Dirty Tackle, Nicollin is threatening to do something even more dramatic if Montpellier somehow win the Champions League.

"If we win the Champions League next season," Nicollin reportedly said, "I shave everywhere."

And we shudder at the thought.
