WWE Over the Limit 2012: Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk Should Have Been Main Event

If you're a fan of the circus, physical comedy movies, The Three Stooges or spectacles that are constructed for future storylines but offer little in the way of solid wrestling, I'm sure you enjoyed the main event between John Cena and John Laurinaitis.

If you're a fan of intense. high-quality wrestling, then the epic match between Daniel Bryan and CM Punk was right up your alley.

I mean how perfect was Punk winning this match after rolling over in the "Yes Lock" and pinning Bryan while simultaneously tapping out? How perfectly does that set up a continued feud between these two?

And why couldn't the WWE give this match the end-of-the-show placement like it deserved?

I get that Cena is the face of the company, and he sells tickets and blah, blah, blah. I've heard it all before. His little three-ring circus act with Laurinaitis and the Big Show needed to happen at Over the Limit. I get that.

But it didn't need to close the show and leave a sour taste in everyone's mouth.

The WWE should show a little more faith in Punk and Bryan and give them the prime billing for a match like this one. If you want to close Raw with a gimmick, knock yourselves—or Cena—out. But don't end a pay-per-view like that when fans are expecting quality wrestling throughout.

Punk and Bryan proved that their feud deserves prime billing. They showed they can captivate a crowd with their performances in the ring, and the controversial ending will keep people hooked on this feud for awhile.

That should have been what the show ended with, not the Big Show's interference. That should have been what fans were left talking about after the show—not some lame comedy routine.

Do we want Punk and Bryan to close the show?

Yes, yes, yes!
