WWE Over The Limit: The 5 Most Likely Interferences During Cena vs. Laurinaitis

Daniel MasseyJun 7, 2018

WWE Over The Limit will feature John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis in the main event.

We are all certain of the outcome—Johnny Ace will win with an interference from a superstar that can avoid the stipulation put down by the board of directors (any superstar that interferes in the match will be fired).

I have come up with five people who could get involved tonight without falling victim to the stipulation and people who might benefit from a firing angle.

Enjoy!

David Otunga

1 of 5

David Otunga has been the closest adviser to John Laurinaitis since he began his hostile takeover of both Raw and SmackDown.

The question is: Will his undying loyalty play a part tonight?

Though it is a possibility, I think an interference by Otunga is the most unlikely scenario we are likely to witness.

However, as we have seen before, stranger things have happened in the WWE.

I do not think the Harvard graduate would jeopardize his position in the WWE and it would also make him look pretty stupid, throwing away his job—juxtaposed to his supposedly smart college background.

Triple H

2 of 5

John Laurinaitis is pretty much responsible for Triple H breaking his arm so we could see an interference on Cena’s behalf, but that is only if we see Lesnar or someone else shifting the match in Johnny’s direction.

Triple H would be able to avoid being fired because he is not strictly a superstar; he is the COO of the company.

A few punches with his cast would look cool, and I think the crowd would go mental for "The Game."

He should make an appearance tonight even if it isn’t in this match.

Eve

3 of 5

Eve could get involved as she isn’t strictly a Diva anymore and nobody would miss her anyway.

As John Laurinaitis’ administrator, Eve might be responsible for the man keeping his job on both Raw and SmackDown.

I don’t think this is very likely, but Eve has been getting quite confrontational on Johnny’s behalf recently—belittling the Big Show on Raw several times and making sure the superstars respect Johnny Ace.

Brock Lesnar

4 of 5

Brock Lesnar could make an appearance tonight.

He has been absent from Raw since breaking Triple H’s arm. If they do move the impending matchup to No Way Out 2012, then Brock needs to return and fast.

He has had Paul Heyman to do all his talking lately and it has been brilliant to see the two pair up again.

Turning this point on its head, Paul Heyman could interfere on Johnny’s behalf under Lesnar’s orders.

Paul Heyman isn’t a WWE superstar and neither is Brock Lesnar since he quit a couple of weeks ago.

Big Show

5 of 5

We have reached the most likely candidate with the Big Show.

Many have predicted a heel turn tonight.

I for one agree with the prediction that Big Show will align himself with John Laurinaitis, turning heel in the process and getting his job back.

Big Show has already been fired and could quite easily be rehired after the dust has settled.

He is also big enough to do some real damage to Cena and make the loss a little more convincing than his crying in the ring last week.

Obviously, none of these people may interfere tonight, it remains to be seen, but the likelihood is a Weapon of Mass Destruction by Big Show and Laurinaitis picking up the victory.
