Vasili Berezutski: Will His Absence Affect Russia's Chances in Euro 2012?

According to the report, Berezutski was unable to practice because of pain in the thigh. The absence comes at a time when Russia is preparing for its Group A matches against Greece, Poland and the Czech Republic.

Vladimir Granat may be chosen to replace Berezutski as the defender. While the UEFA webpage talks about an "untried" Granat, he is a defender for the Russian Premier League team FC Dinamo Moscow.
