WWE over the Limit 2012 Matches: Predicting Winners for Each Showdown

Andrew KulhaJun 7, 2018

WWE Over the Limit features some incredible matches, but none may be more exciting and superstar-packed than the Fatal Four-Way match between Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio and WWE Heavyweight Champion Sheamus.

Just in one match we will be getting the brute strength of Sheamus, the cunning and veteran instincts of Jericho, the skills and ability of Orton and the technical prowess and smarts of Del Rio.

Simply put, it's going to be epic.

As I stated earlier though, there are some very good matchups lined up for Over the Limit. Here's my predictions for each match.

Zack Ryder vs. Kane

This is almost a laughable match, which is probably the reason they put it on the pre-show. Ryder has moments where he looks very good, but his "Broski Boot" is going to be no match for the brute strength, aggression and power of Kane.

If you want to watch an entertaining figure in Ryder get beat up by an intimidating force, this is a good match for you.

Winner: Kane

Layla vs. Beth Phoenix

Layla burst back on to the scene to steal the WWE Divas Championship, and she's had a relatively short stay as the champ. For this reason and this reason only, I don't see her giving up the title at Over the Limit.

"The Glamazon" is hungry for redemption, but her anger and aggression will come back to bite her against her cunning opponent.

Winner: Layla

Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler

The WWE Tag Team Championship is on the line in this match, and to be frank, both teams would be deserving champions.

Kingston and Truth have only had the title for a while and their reign has actually been very exciting. The mixture of the high-flying athleticism of Kingston and Truth's antics and strength have been a good watch, so I don't see them losing to the heel team of Swagger and Ziggler.

I expect it to be a great match though, and I also expect Vicky Guerrero to cause some kind of trouble. In the end, the more likeable pair will win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston and R-Truth

Fatal 4-Way: Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Sheamus

Sheamus' heavyweight title is on the line, and right off the bat I don't see him keeping it. The way the match is set up, the first superstar to get a pinfall or submission will be crowned the heavyweight champ, and that doesn't suit Sheamus' heavy-hitting style well.

Del Rio and Jericho are going to be at an advantage, as both are incredibly cunning, smart and opportunistic. They are also both good with submission techniques. Randy Orton should be able to cause some trouble, but I see the "feud" between him and Sheamus getting in the way, which will allow the opportunist Jericho to refuel his fire as "the best in the world."

Winner: Chris Jericho

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan

The last few times we've seen Bryan square off for a major belt, he's lost in epic fashion, and I don't see that changing with this match. It very well be the most entertaining bout on the card, as both of these superstars are very good at what they do.

I expect high-flying action, solid technique and a very long, intense match. In the end, CM Punk has way too much momentum and will continue his rise to the top of the WWE Universe.

Winner: CM Punk

John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis

On paper, this would constitute a Cena rout, as he's clearly the more physically gifted of the two participants in this fight. That being said, it would be far too boring for Cena to go out there and handily beat the general manager, so I expect Laurinaitis to have a few good rallies up his sleeve.

There's a ton of speculation about interference in this match that would allow Big Johnny to win, and while that may be possible or even likely, I see things a bit differently.

Cena will win the match and Laurinaitis will be canned. The WWE will find a way to keep him on TV as a heel that everybody hates, and perhaps that will set up redemption for guys like The Big Show or even Teddy Long.

Either way, there's no way I see Cena losing.

Winner: John Cena
