Preakness 2012 Results: Chances I'll Have Another Wins Triple Crown at Belmont

Who wouldn't want to see I'll Have Another win the Triple Crown?

The feat is extremely uncommon. There are few who don't want to see it happen (competitors), but most would love to watch it take place at the Belmont Stakes in three weeks.

Chances are slim, however.

Affirmed was the last Triple Crown winner and that was way back in 1978. It's been more than three decades since the last horse to complete the trick.

There is a reason few horses can seal the deal—it's difficult to win three races when you don't know what you're going to get from your horse.

Will I'll Have Another be able to complete another comeback down the stretch for the third straight victory? I'm not so sure he can put himself in that situation again.

We could easily be looking at Bodemeister in this situation if it wasn't for stretch-run comebacks and slight chokes.

But, you have to give credit where it's due and that's to I'll Have Another.

Given how difficult it is to win a Triple Crown, given the mile-and-a-half track and his competition, the chances of I'll Have Another winning for the third time are slim.

But that's why they race.

Prediction

I'll give I'll Have Another a 10 percent chance of winning the Triple Crown at Belmont. We're talking about a feat that doesn't happen often.
