Real Madrid Transfer News: Tracking Latest Rumors, Updates

Will ProtheroeJun 4, 2018

After a successful league campaign was spoiled ever so slightly by their Champions League exit, rumours are circling about which players José Mourinho will bring in this summer.

Here we take a look at the latest rumours surrounding the club and see how likely they may be.

The Express reports that Mourinho could be looking to his former club Chelsea for a new face by bringing in tireless midfielder Ramires. Midfielders would appear to be high on Mourinho's list of priorities, and having Ramires' engine in the centre of the park would help any team.

Whether or not Madrid would be prepared to stump up the cash that Chelsea would want for the Brazilian is another matter.

Another Chelsea player that Mourinho reportedly has his eye on is Branislav Ivanovic. The Serbian had another impressive season and according to Marca, Madrid are in the market for a right back.

Again, it is hard to see Chelsea letting the player go willingly, so unless Ivanovic tries to force a deal through it seems like a long shot.

A more likely addition to the Real side would be Tottenham's Luka Modric. Following Chelsea's Champions League final win at the weekend dumped Spurs out of the competition next season, reports suggest that the Croatian will be looking to exit the London club this summer. Modric looked set to leave Spurs last summer after bids from Chelsea prompted him to ask for a transfer.

The club held firm last summer but they may find it hard to deny Modric again. If this is the case then Madrid will be waiting in the wings to snap him up. Marca reports that Modric is seen as the ideal candidate to replace Kaka.

This weekend has also seen Madrid linked to some Premier League strikers.

According to The Mirror, José Mourinho could be looking to test the nerve of Premier League champions Manchester City by offering them £50 million for striker Sergio Aguero. While City of course don't need the money, Real will be hoping that Aguero will be tempted back to Spain and the city where he made his name with Athletico.

However, with City looking like they'll be a force for years to come, would Aguero want to make the move?

He has only been in Manchester for one season, and after leading the club's scoring charts with 30 goals this rumour seems pretty far-fetched. There have been no signs of unrest from the Argentinian, who, speaking after winning the league, didn't sound like a man getting ready to leave the club.

"

I came here to win trophies. I think City have become a great side. I think you can say we are up there with the big boys with that victory and a league title. Let's hope it is the start of a run of trophies.

"

Another striker who looks unlikely to be playing in Madrid next season is Liverpool's Luis Suarez.

Reports today have linked the Uruguayan with a summer move away from Anfield, with Real Madrid touted as a possible landing spot. This comes after a difficult season for Suarez both on and off the pitch, but speaking to the Liverpool Daily Post he looked to quash the rumour.

"

Being honest, I have never talked to anyone from Barca or Real Madrid. If the rumours are to be believed I would have already played for 20 teams.

"

While there is much speculation on who may be incoming for Madrid, one player who looks set to leave the club is Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentinian started just eighteen games in La Liga this season. At 24 years of age, he is in the prime of his career. He received a standing ovation when he was substituted against Mallorca at the Bernabeu, but he remained coy over whether or not he would stay.

"

I was thrilled that 80,000 people were asking me to stay. It was spectacular. I was thrilled, no question.

"

His former manager Fabio Capello thinks that his future could lie with Juventus.

The Italian told Tuttosport that "Higuain is ideal for the game Juventus play."
