WWE Over the Limit 2012: Must-See Matches During Sunday's Event

Austin GreenJun 7, 2018

Brace yourselves kiddos, because Over the Limit 2012 is just around the corner.

Sunday night's schedule is loaded with juicy storylines, including Raw and SmackDown general manager John Laurinaitis possibly (and hopefully) getting beat down by the iconic John Cena.

Although the action kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, these are the critical matches to watch on Sunday.

CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan

The seemingly unbeatable CM Punk looks to defend his WWE championship against Bryan, who is coming off a loss to Sheamus.

This should be the most exciting match of the night, as these are two of the most athletically impressive performers in the sport. There will be plenty of acrobatics, as well as unbelievable displays of brute strength.

In the end, I think Punk keeps his crown. With a capable and marketable opponent like Bryan, however, anything can happen.

Sheamus vs. Chris Jericho vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton

In perhaps the most intriguing match on the card, Sheamus will look defend his Heavyweight title in a Fatal Four-Way match against three of the company's top contenders.

Sheamus has lost to Del Rio by disqualification and been pinned by Jericho in recent weeks, so I'm not loving his chances. I certainly wouldn't bet on the Irishman, but as he proved at WrestleMania, he can pull out some surprising results.

Either way, this one is sure to be wildly entertaining.

John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis

In the match with the highest stakes, John Laurinaitis' job will be on the line as he steps into the ring with Cena.

The two have built up plenty of drama in recent weeks, as Laurinaitis tried to replace Cena with Brock Lesnar as the face of the WWE. Cena hasn't gone quietly, though, showing his toughness and sheer willpower in his incredible victory over Lesnar at Extreme Rules.

Seeing how Cena and Laurinaitis are polar opposites as far as likability, I'm expecting Cena to come out on top.
