2012 Preakness TV Schedule: Post Time and Prediction for Big Race
The 137th annual Preakness Stakes is here and there seems to be one question that has infatuated everybody: Who can beat Bodemeister?
Despite placing second at the Kentucky Derby, all eyes will be on this Bob Baffert-bred colt today as they anxiously await his performance on a shorter track. His blazing fast speed was on full display at Churchill Downs, but he faded by the end of the 1 ¼ length track.
With a shorter path to the finish line, can Bodemeister be beat?
I’ll Have Another is seeking to win back-to-back legs of the Triple Crown, but he doesn’t own the speed of Bodemeister and will need a small miracle to keep up in a shorter field.
If Bodemeister is the heavy favorite then he certainly won’t be winning, right?
Here’s all of the TV info for the day, post positions, odds, and my prediction to take home the win.

Prediction: Daddy Nose Best
I hate taking the favorites solely because of the crappy odds, and I love the people that have worked with this colt.
Trainer Steve Asmussen is currently third on the earnings list in 2012 and has two Preakness wins on his resume. He typical has bred horses who excel on short tracks, and that’s exactly what Pimlico is.
The jockey is Julien Leparoux, who has over seven years of jockeying experience, with dozens of wins on his resume. He has yet to win this particular race, but there is no doubt he is one of the better jockey’s in the 11-horse field.
I think Daddy Nose Best gets off to a strong start and is able to outlast Bodemeister, who is forced to settle for second once again.
