Manchester United Transfer News: Why Red Devils Must Bring in Robert Lewandowski
Manchester United is trying to compete with their local rival, Manchester City, and the potential addition of Robert Lewandowski is a must-have if the Red Devils want to top their competition next season.
According to Joe Wright of Goal.com, the Red Devils are interested in not only Lewandowski, but Shinji Kagawa as well. Both stars were, of course, teammates at Borussia Dortmund.
"United is likely to be active over the summer as it looks to build a side which can wrestle the title back from City’s grasp, with Borussia Dortmund duo Shinji Kagawa and Robert Lewandowski reportedly on its radar.

Lewandowski would give some much-needed offensive punch to the club if the Red Devils were to add the 22-goal striker. The addition of Kagawa would give United an unmistakable chemistry between their two newest players that wouldn't need developing.
Kagawa would add some punch of his own, having scored 13 goals to go along with 11 assists at the German club. Kagawa has proven that he can create offense with more than just putting the ball in the net.
Not to mention, the Red Devils would instantly grab the attention of the soccer world with two huge moves like that. It would erase the notion that United can't compete with City's big spending as Wright also alluded to in his piece.
However, if all else fails and the Red Devils can't land both players, Lewandowski is the bigger priority of the two. His ability to put the ball in the net makes Lewandowski a more valuable commodity by far than his former teammate.
United will have a lot of catching up to do after City's Premier League title, and that all begins with bringing Lewandowski to the Red Devils.
