Bayern Munich vs Chelsea Predictions: Suspensions Will Sink Blues

Chelsea will be missing several key players for the Champions League Final due to suspensions, and they simply won't have enough defenders to beat Bayern Munich.

John Terry, Ramires, Raul Meireles and Branislav Ivanovic will all sit out for the match in Munich, leaving the defense in shambles.

Terry's absence will be especially missed as he is the captain of the team and has been a fixture in the Blues' lineup for a decade.

Ivanovic has played extremely well late in the season, and Ramires and Meireles have played key roles in stabilizing the midfield.

Bayern will suffer from suspensions as well with Holger Badstuber, Luiz Gustavo and David Alaba all missing the final.

This will weaken the German team's defense with all three players having key ball-stopping roles.

However, the Chelsea players missing the match are much more important to their side than the Bayern players. While all of the suspended Chelsea men are defensive minded or midfield players, all have scored at least one goal in the UCL knockout stages.

In comparison, the suspended Bayern players have three goals between them on the season and none in the Champions League knockout rounds.

To make matters worse for the Blues, they rely on their defense much more than Bayern does. 

Both teams have their attacking lines intact, but Bayern's players pose much more of a threat than Chelsea's. 

The English side cannot compete with the combination of Mario Gomez, Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. These players simply bring too much firepower. 

The Chelsea defense would struggle to stop these three at full strength, and they have little chance of containing the Bayern attack with half of their the starters missing.

This matchup was always going to be difficult for the Blues, but with these suspensions, it will be near impossible for Roman Abramovich's side to earn him the Champions League trophy that he has coveted for so long.
