2012 Preakness TV Schedule: Latest Listings and Info for Today's Race

Names You Need to Know

Bodemeister

Bodemeister is the big name because he's arguably the best looking horse in the field. He ran an incredible Kentucky Derby, but was overtaken on the final stretch by the eventual winner—I'll Have Another.

Despite the loss, Bodemeister looked strong, very fast and really set the pace of the Derby. Being that the Preakness is a shorter race, many are expecting him to get out front early and maintain a lead all the way through.

I'll Have Another

It's hard to believe that many are thinking about the Kentucky Derby winner as the second-best horse in the race, but this is the case for I'll Have Another. That being said, he's still going to play a huge factor in this race.

He ran a beautiful race at the Derby—staying in the crowd for most of the race, but then going into a second gear on the final stretch and overcoming both Trinniberg and Bodemeister—so we know he has the talent to do the same.

He's a strong, skilled and very smooth horse, so don't count him out.
