Over the Limit 2012: Is Chris Jericho on His Way Out?
WWE.com has an article about Chris Jericho's inability to win any of the title matches that he's been involved in since his return at the beginning of the year. The article heavily hints that if Jericho is unable to win the World Heavyweight Championship, the Over the Limit pay-per-view may be the last the WWE Universe will see of him.
What is interesting is that the article speculates that Y2J may leave regardless of whether or not he wins the World Heavyweight Championship. Could we see Jericho leave with SmackDown's top championship?
It's been common knowledge—and it is also mentioned in the WWE.com article—that Jericho has many projects with his band, Fozzy, this summer. The group is scheduled to release a new album, and they will be touring the UK in early June. However, Jericho hasn't come out and said anything indicating whether or not he plans on taking a break from the WWE or leaving entirely.

Perhaps taking an extended leave as the World Heavyweight Champion is exactly what Jericho had in mind when he announced that he would usher in the "end of the world as we know it" way back before the Royal Rumble in January. After all, Jericho never did deliver on that promise. He failed to win the Royal Rumble and came up short twice when challenging CM Punk for the WWE Championship. If he is on his way out for the time being, Sunday's PPV would be his last chance to deliver on that five-month-old promise.
WWE has made a habit of delivering an incredible newsworthy story every summer. In 2008, it was Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels. In 2009, it was CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy. Summer of 2010 saw the debut of the Nexus, and 2011 saw CM Punk shockingly leave Money in the Bank as WWE Champion.
Could Sunday's Fatal Fourway World Heavyweight Championship be the beginning of this summer's blockbuster angle? Could it be the end of the world as we know it?
