Call Me Maybe Video: Harvard and SMU Face off on Today Show
After watching the following video, I went into the bathroom and threw up violently for the better part of four hours...and had a much better time.
Congratulations SMU and Harvard, you took a fairly craptastic video and have taken it to Pau Gasol levels of lame.
You don't get another chance to improve on a meme, and you certainly don't do it on the Today show where it's guaranteed to lose any cool factor that it may have had.
For those that have not already gouged their eyes out in revolt, here is the original Call Me Maybe video which features the Harvard baseball team acting silly.
I can buy into that. Although it got a little old after the first minute, at least it was something new and it really only cost me a few moments of my life I would have wasted watching the Lakers lose anyway. So thanks.
This brings us today on Today when one overzealous producer thought, "hey this is a real keen video the kids love; how can we exploit it, kill it and nauseate the masses?"
Kudos to youdos.
Somehow the SMU women's rowing team made an appearance to battle it out in a competition that almost killed off all contests ever made.
I'm not kidding. This one battle will very nearly kill humanity's need to ever see two teams come together on the field of friendly competition.
The best part of this video also happens to be the only good part. It's the knowledge that this video and the song Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen has died a quick and sudden glorious death.
My stomach is now settled.
Follow me on Twitter and we can choreograph a van dance.
