College Football: 2013 Weekly Recruiting Roundup May 11-17
Every Thursday at Your Best 11, we run around the nation looking at big commitments. Ordinarily, May is a quiet month on the recruiting trail as players and coaches gear up for the summer camp and combine season. However, this past week saw two mighty commitments rock the recruiting boat and remind folks that there truly is no offseason when if comes to coaches preparing for their future.
First up we'll hit the west coast as Lane Kiffin continues his calculated tear on the recruiting trail. In a class full of studs, Kiffin adds to the mix by securing a pledge from one of the nation's top-ranked running backs, Ty Isaac. Great get for the Trojans and a disappointing turn of events for schools in the Midwest that were hoping to get the Illinois running back in the fold.
In similar big news, one of the country's most heralded quarterback recruits, Cooper Bateman, has picked Alabama. The Tide beat out rival Auburn, among other schools, for Bateman. The quarterback is an Elite 11 prospect who became another recruiting win for Nick Saban, one of the game's best recruiters.
Also in the SEC, Arkansas has got their class up to two kids with the commitment of Deondre Skinner, a tight end from Louisiana ($$). Florida grabbed a wide receiver to put 16 kids in their 2013 haul as Marqui Hawkins committed to the Gators.
Speaking of receivers, LSU got a commitment from JUCO standout wideout Quantavious Leslie this week. Leslie should come in and contribute immediately to the Bayou Bengals as a pass-catcher.
Tennessee did not secure any commitments this week, but it most certainly appears the Volunteers have got their name in the ring when it comes to the nation's top recruit, Robert Nkemdiche:
"Loved seeing Tennessee today have to get a visit down there !! Deff top school!

Just being on the radar is big news for Derek Dooley and the folks in Knoxville.
Nebraska has added another member to their class of 2013, as Greg Hart, a tight end from Ohio, committed to Bo Pelini and staff this week. Hart fills a pressing need in the future for the Huskers and given his size and speed combo, he brings some versatility to the Nebraska offense.
Finally, in long snapper news, UCLA and Jim Mora have added Cole Mazza to their 2013 class. The Bruins received a commitment from Mazza, the top-ranked long snapper in the class, this week and that should help give their special teams a boost as he comes highly recommended from the Rubio Long Snapping academy.
