MLB History: Guess the Lifetime Stats, Part 2

Jun 7, 2018

If you're here, that means you're a fan of Major League Baseball. And if you're like most fans of Major League Baseball, you know everything there is to know about, well, everything.

I would tell you to give yourself a pat on the back, but you have to pass a test first. It's time to find out just how much you know about baseball.

The game we're going to play is called "Guess the Lifetime Stats," and it's just what it sounds like. Every week, we're going to present a screenshot of the lifetime stats of a random player, and you have to guess who those stats belong to.

We played our little game for the first time last week, and the stats we presented belonged to none other than Moises Alou, who played 17 seasons with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and others. He retired with a lifetime batting average of .303 and 332 home runs, but we'll always remember him for his role in the Steve Bartman incident.

B/R Featured Columnist Ely Sussman was the first (and only) person to correctly guess the answer.

Since Ely answered correctly, he got to pick this week's mystery stats guy. Here are the lifetime stats of said mystery stats guy, courtesy of Baseball-Reference.com:

Ponder these stats for as long as you like. Take your time. Try to pick up on any clues you can. Don a Sherlock Holmes hat if you must.

I'll give you one hint, and one hint only: His family was pretty good at baseball. Probably still is.

If you think you know the answer, all you need to do is scroll below and leave your answer in the comments section.

The first person to answer correctly will get to choose next week's mystery stats guy, and they'll also get a shout-out, just like Mr. Sussman.

Anyone who provides an incorrect answer will be asked to hand over their baseball fan card.

Good luck.

Follow me on Twitter, but don't clog my mentions with answers. You're only going to annoy me if you do that.
