Nick Mangold: Jets' Center Gets Waxed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Tuesday night was all about bare-chested men. 

Over on TNT, they had Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley stripping down for a Shirt Off competition that none of us asked for but we all gladly watched. 

Big men with their shirts off seemed to be a theme as Jimmy Fallon introduced a celebrity in his latest quiz show entitled "Wax On, Wax Off."

New York Jets center Nick Mangold was on the set of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to participate more as the guinea pig than the actual participant. 

The man that actually answered questions was a self-proclaimed Giants fan, and it was Mangold that suffered for any wrong answer. 

Of course, questions on Lithuanian prime ministers and Chaucer made it a guarantee that Mangold would have some hair ripped out thanks to wax on stand by.

We have to agree with the good folks over at SportsGrid who noticed, as we did, that Mangold's pain seems to go up in this particular video. 

It makes sense. 

I mean, he did go through a few rips of the skin, and he knows what's coming. So doubling down on the wax and then nearly taking off a nipple might just make anyone cringe. 

Bravo to Mangold, who handles this all like a champ. Not a real champ, because he is a member of the Jets, but a figurative one.

One who takes a waxing like a real man, with but the faintest of winces and flinches.
