Fantasy Baseball 2012: Emergency Waiver-Wire Pitcher for May 16
Mixed-league roto owners, are you in need of a waiver-wire pitcher before Wednesday's slate of games?
Here's my free-agent choice (from the majority of 12-team leagues) for one day of fantasy stardom:
Felipe Paulino, Kansas City Royals (vs. Orioles)
1. In his only two starts this season, Paulino (1-1, 3.09 ERA, 1.20 WHIP) has a 12-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
2. Paulino has a significantly better track record at Kauffman Stadium, compared to other MLB venues.
3. In 400.2 innings of minor league work, Paulino registered 375 strikeouts and had a K/9 ratio north of 10 five times.
4. To be honest, the slate of Wednesday waiver-wire possibilities isn't that great, so when in doubt, go with the hard-throwing right-hander pitching at home.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Next Five For Wednesday
1. Clayton Richard (Padres) vs. Dodgers—In 20.1 innings at home (Petco Park), Richard has only allowed five runs this season.
2. Jerome Williams (Angels) vs. White Sox—Williams gets a relative free pass from last week's debacle against the Rangers. His non-Texas track record looks good, though.
3. Randy Wolf (Brewers) @ Astros—Here's hoping for six innings of two runs allowed and six strikeouts against Houston.
4. Kyle Drabek (Blue Jays) vs. Yankees—Using my system of analysis, the second-year Drabek (3.66 ERA) has posted 5-of-7 quality fantasy outings this season.
5. Patrick Corbin (Diamondbacks) @ Rockies—The kid would probably rank No. 1 here...if he wasn't just hours away from his first-ever start at Coors Field.
A Look Back
Tuesday's selection: Baltimore's Wei-Yin Chen
Final tally: Seven innings, one victory, four hits, two runs allowed, four strikeouts and two walks.
