Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Even though rookie running back Doug Martin sat out Tampa Bay's first OTA Tuesday with a sore hamstring, LeGarrette Blount knows the competition for carries will begin soon. Blount came into camp in great shape and is ready to battle, but said, "[It's mine] until they take it away."

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons signed offensive tackle Lamar Holmes Tuesday and have now inked five of the six picks from the 2012 draft class. The only remaining unsigned player is defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers added running back Armond Smith off waivers Tuesday. Joe Person thinks Smith will join a crowded competition for the fourth running back spot.

New Orleans Saints

Running back Mark Ingram might not be ready for training camp, according to Mike Triplett, but should be good to go for the start of the season.

Drew Brees won't miss a beat because head coach Sean Payton will miss the 2012 season, according to Mike Triplett. The reason why is offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael.

NFC South

Two NFC South players made Bill Polian's list of most pivotal players in 2012. Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones came in at No. 7, while rookie running back Doug Martin with the Buccaneers was at No. 2.
