Preakness 2012 Entries: Horses Most Likely to Destroy Triple Crown Dreams
I'll Have Another won the 138th Kentucky Derby against all odds. He now holds this year's Triple Crown hopes heading into the 2012 Preakness Stakes.
I'll Have Another may be the automatic favorite in this year's Preakness, but he will not be unchallenged. He is undefeated in his three races this year, but he is used to flying under the radar.
These horses are ready to destroy I'll Have Another's Triple Crown dreams.
Creative Cause
Creative Cause was a favorite heading into the Kentucky Derby, but he finished fifth. Now, the three-year-old colt will try and find his racing stride in time to ruin I'll Have Another's Triple Crown hopes.
Creative Cause's Derby finish was the first time he ever finished worse than third place. He did not lose by a large margin and will not need to improve much heading into the next race.
The Kentucky Derby was Creative Cause's third career race outside his home state of California. He should be more comfortable this time around and should be used to the big stage of a Triple Crown race.
I'll Have Another upset Creative Cause at the 2012 Santa Anita Derby and defeated him in the Kentucky Derby. Do not be surprised if Creative Cause has the last laugh at the 2012 Preakness.
Bodemeister
Bodemeister attempted to thwart the competition, and history, in the 138th Kentucky Derby. He did not win the race, but he finished a very close second.
Bodemeister is still a major threat to win the 2012 Preakness, despite coming up short at Kentucky Oaks.
He has a race under his belt, does not look as inexperienced and is still built to win races. Trainer Bob Baffert does not take losing lightly, and he will have his horse ready to go this time around.
Bodemeister will enter the 2012 Preakness as a favorite yet again. He will contend again and could easily win this time.
Went the Day Well
Went the Day Well's rally fell just short in the 2012 Kentucky Derby. He went from 17th to fourth place in the race.
Went the Day Well's lineage runs through Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom won the 2011 Kentucky Derby.
Expect Went the Day Well to be there until the end of the Preakness. He has tremendous closing speed, and he now knows how, and when, to use it.
I'll Have Another would love to have another victory in the Preakness, but he will struggle. Went the Day Well could be the cause of his struggles.
