There has been some talk that former Packers running back Ryan Grant might return for another stint with the team (at a reduced rate, of course), especially since he has yet to sign with the Detroit Lions. Brian Carriveau of CheeseheadTV points out that the 90-man roster is maxed and would require a cut for him to come on.

This, by the way, is a perfect example of why Matt Forte isn't getting paid by Chicago—the NFL views backs as interchangeable, even ones as good as Forte.

I mentioned Donald Driver in yesterday's video on the top receiver corps in the North, but it looks like I might have to edit him out as the Journal Sentinel's Michael Hunt says he may not be long with the team.

Detroit Lions

With all the concussion talk and concern over long-term effects of playing football, it's a little surprising that two rookie Lions defenders seemed to relish inflicting pain on opposing players—well, shocking that they said it out loud at least. We all know that the players feel this way to some extent. It's just not said out loud as much anymore.

Rod Beard of the Detroit News says the Lions are really hot on new receiver Ryan Broyles, even if they have to wait a bit.

Chicago Bears

Minnesota Vikings

The Daily Norseman (SKOL) has a thorough piece about new Tight End/Fullback/Halfback/Waiter Rhett Ellison.

1500 ESPN has a nice piece about how Greg Childs and Jarius Wright became friends long before they played together at Arkansas. Turns out, Wright was a bit of a brat.
