Special teams was a point of emphasis at rookie minicamp for the Panthers last weekend, according to Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer. Instead of signing big-name free agents this offseason, Carolina filled out its positional needs and enhanced its special teams unit.

Atlanta Falcons

Rookie minicamp for the Falcons ended on Sunday and head coach Mike Smith was impressed by the 2012 draft class, according to Daniel Cox of AtlantaFalcons.com.

Tuesday is the first day the rookies and veterans will come together for offseason training.

New Orleans Saints

A SportsNOLA article speculates that it's not Drew Brees or the Saints who are at fault for a long-term deal not getting done, it's Brees' agent, Tom Condon.

The Saints made some moves after rookie minicamp last weekend, signing four and cutting four players.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs begin on-field workouts Tuesday, according to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune, who also gives a few items to watch in the coming weeks.

Franchise kicker Connor Barth left North Carolina bound for Tampa, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. The kicker has not signed his franchise tender yet, but could be close to doing so.
