Avery Bradley Injury: Latest Updates on Boston Celtics Guard's Shoulder Injury

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley tweaked his left shoulder in the second quarter of Game 2 in the Celtics' second-round playoff series with the Philadelphia 76ers

He was running the floor on a fast break, received a pass and went up to finish with his right hand. Elton Brand came soaring in for the block, and Bradley's left arm got in the way in the process.

Update: Monday, May 14 at 8:52 p.m. ET

Bradley has returned to the game. He didn't come out with his teammates at halftime, but whatever they were doing to his shoulder with that extra time worked.

It was not a jolting blow, but it obviously provided enough tweak or torque to leave Bradley in pain.

It was clear almost instantly that something was not right, and Bradley went straight to the bench. He headed back to the locker room not long after that.

The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn tweeted an update.

"

Avery Bradley did not come out for the second half, so that tells you about his shoulder injury, Ray Allen starting half for #celtics

Admittedly, this doesn't tell us a lot about Bradley's injury other than the fact it is reason for concern. It seems unlikely that he will return for this game and is probably headed for further tests to inspect the damage.

Bradley has been a nice piece for the Celtics. Prior to this game, he had averaged almost 26 minutes a game in this playoff run.

However, his role had been reduced since Ray Allen was able to return to action. Bradley's biggest impact has come on the defensive end.

Keep it tuned into to this page as we post updates on his condition as they become available.
