Tim Tebow: Work Ethic and Drive to Succeed Will Benefit the New York Jets

Jesse ReedJun 4, 2018

Tim Tebow will bring life to the New York Jets in 2012. His work ethic, drive and determination to succeed are indomitable, and he will find a way to make a positive impact on his new team.

One of the things that crippled the Jets last year was a dysfunctional locker room that LaDainian Tomlinson called, "as bad as I've ever been around," according to the New York Post.

Tebow's passion for the game and drive to be great will make a good impression as the team gathers for OTAs and minicamps, and by the time training camp rolls around, he will have earned the trust and support of his teammates.

The locker room will benefit from Tebow's team-first, sacrifice-for-one-another mentality.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith thinks that recent comments made by Jets quarterback coach Matt Cavanaugh to the New York Daily News about Mark Sanchez's "poor decision-making" signal that the fix is in for Tebow to become the starting quarterback, but he's off his rocker on this one.

There is a good chance Tebow will get an opportunity to start at some point in the 2012 season behind center unless Sanchez starts playing better, but until then, Tebow will find other ways to contribute. Until then, it's guaranteed that he will be ready to perform at the highest level possible whenever his number is called.

The New York Daily News reported earlier this spring that the Jets intend to use Tebow on special teams—proving that they see limitless potential for him to impact the game. They also reported that the Jets will have a "Tebow Package" of read-option plays.

In another column, New York Daily News talked to Tony Sparano, who told them Tebow could see up to 20 snaps per game.

Whatever the case ends up being, one thing is certain: Tebow will be prepared. The Jets made a smart move bringing him into their locker room, and he won't fail to deliver when his time comes.

One way or another, Tebow's presence on their roster will be to their benefit.
