2012 Preakness TV Schedule: Complete Guide to Watching the Race

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

I'll Have Another will line up in the gates for the 2012 Preakness looking to get one-step closer to capturing the first Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978.

While the colt's win at the Kentucky Derby was impressive, it wasn't overly dominant. And he won it on a late charge.

None of this screams dominance at the Preakness, which is the shortest Triple Crown race.

I'll Have Another

Of course the Kentucky Derby winner is going to be at the top of this list. While his performance at the Derby wasn't one that made him the overwhelming favorite in this race, there is no reason to count him out either.

This colt showed a great competitive spirit and a fantastic finishing kick at the Derby. This will serve him well in any race.

Bodemeister

The second place finisher at the Derby, Bodemeister, proved he was the fastest horse in the field. He got out to an early lead and held that lead until the closing stretch.

Just a bit more patience from this colt, and he could bury the field down the stretch.

Creative Cause

This colt finished fifth at the Derby, but that easily could have been a much higher finish. Creative Cause got held up in some of the traffic in the dense field.

With a smaller field at the Preakness, Cause will have more room to work and flash his natural speed. You can definitely expect him to finish in the money.
