The Insight Bowl Needs YOU to Guess the Next Bowl Game Name

The Insight Bowl will no longer be the Insight Bowl, and Twitter users now have the opportunity to guess what name and sponsor will be taking over.

Insight Enterprises has decided not to continue its sponsorship, which the company picked up in 1997, and so, we will have a new name for this late December tussle. The tie-ins in recent years had been a Big Ten team and a Big 12 team (important for joke purposes below).

The Insight Bowl Twitter feed, which has since adopted the name @______Bowl (because, well, it’s a mystery) is asking users to provide their guesses for the next name of the game using the hashtag #NameTheGame.

Asking for the Internet’s help leads to solid social media interaction. It also leads to jokes. Lots and lots of jokes. I would like to nominate the following ideas into the #NameTheGame contest.

The “Let’s Have a Real Good Time Bowl,” emceed by Pitbull

The “Jim Delany Just Fell Asleep During the National Anthem” Bowl

The Bourbon Bowl Sponsored by Bourbon (not a company; just the universal drink)
